I was born and raised in Hollister, California then moved to the San Joaquin Valley in Central California where I met my wife, married and had children. What is unique about the Phoenix area architecture? There are various forms of architecture in the Valley of the Sun. Downtown Phoenix has the old historical sections of town. In the Cave Creek, Carefree areas you have many of the Territorial Style homes. The Chandler, Gilbert area has rambling ranch style homes. Tempe is a college town with an eclectic mix of various styles of architecture from historical to Frank Lloyd Wright. In the West Valley you have the communities that give you the feeling of family with front porches, wider streets and family neighborhoods. Paradise Valley is known for its million dollar estates. Arts & History: What is your favorite landmark in the area ? What is the history behind it? To the East we see the Superstition Mountain. This is the area that contains the whereabouts of the Lost Dutchman Mine. To the South we see South Mountain Park which is the largest city owned park in North America. A hike through this area will reveal the most beautiful view of the valley that you have ever seen. Along the way you will see remnants of ancient Indian petroglyphs still visible carved into rocks on the mountains. To the West you see the White Mountains which is a very popular destination for campers, hikers and hunters. To the North you will see the New River Mountains which is also a popular place to hunt, fish or hike. In the center of the valley you will see the largest landmark of all which is Camelback Mountain. Home of palatial mansions, strenuous hiking paths and beautiful unobstructed views. What museum or park do you recommend I visit first? Heard Museum. Describe things I may see and/or do there. Learn all about the different tribes of Indians in the State of Arizona. See and experience the culture and lifestyle of the ancient Indian ways.
What type of, and where can I go, to enjoy the performing arts? Gammage Center at Arizona State University, The Dodge Theater, Herberger Theater, Scottsdale Performing Arts Center, Chandler Performing Art Center, Phoenix Ballet and many more too numerous to mention. How would you describe the landscape of the land? Beautiful Sonoran Desert.
Other than July, August and September which can be extremely dry and hot, the other nine months are PERFECT! Business: What type of Industry and Business fuel the local economy? One of the largest industries in Phoenix area at this time is construction. We have been in a housing boom with a major growth spurt fueling all aspects of the housing industry. The Valley of the Sun is home to Intel, Motorola, Insight, Honeywell, Boeing, McDonell / Douglas, General Dynamics, American Express, Chase, Discover Card, Dial to name a few of the large Fortune 500 companies located in the area. Dining: What are some of your favorite places to go if casually dining out? Rufffino’s Italian Cuisine in Ahwatuckee , Durant’s in downtown Phoenix, Joe’s Barbeque in Gilbert, Morton’s in Scottsdale and Garcia’s Mexican Food in Glendale.
Ruth Chris Steak House in Phoenix, McGrath’s in Scottsdale, Mary Ellen’s at the Phoenician. What is a common fast food that I may not find in other areas of the country? Indian Fry Bread. Growth: How would you describe the growth of your community? Explosive. We are growing at an average of 10,000 new comers per month. History: Does your area have a unique history? Yes, our history goes all the way back to the Indian civilizations that were prominent in the area. Some of the earliest tribes like the Anasazi’s have disappeared but we still have a huge population of Indian tribes of the Navajo, Hopi, Pima, Maricopa, and Apache.
Landmarks: What are your favorite "natural" landmarks in your area? South Mountain Park, Camelback Mountain, Mummy Mountain, Squaw Peak, Four Peaks, Superstition Mountains.
What are your favorite "manmade" landmarks in your area? Tempe Town Lake, Bank One Ballpark, Gammage Center, America West Arena, and the new Cardinals Arena which is being built in Glendale.
Nature: What type of wildlife thrives in your area? Coyote, rattlesnakes, foxes, road runners, javelina, hummingbirds.
What type of foliage thrives in your area? Cactus, Mesquite trees, Palo Verde trees, Creosote bushes.
Nightlife: Where can I enjoy your area's nightlife? Everywhere but especially in Scottsdale, Mill Avenuein downtown Tempe, Glendale Historical district, and down town Phoenix.
Recreation: What are some of the outdoor activities people in your area typically enjoy? Phoenix is surrounded by seven very large lakes. Arizona has the largest per capita for boat ownership in the United States. Many of the residents enjoy water sports and fishing in the summer, snow skiing and boarding in the winter in Flagstaff area. Many of the residents plus the winter visitors enjoy golf and tennis. Arizona has over 200 golf courses scattered throughout the state.
Sports: What professional and college sports teams can I cheer for? A) Professional: Arizona Cardinals Football, Arizona Diamondbacks Baseball, Phoenix Suns Basketball, Phoenix Coyotes Hockey, Arizona Rattlers Arena Football.
B) College: Arizona State University, University of Arizona (Tucson), numerous Junior College teams located throughout the valley. Shopping: Where do you recommend I do my department store shopping? At Chandler Fashion Mall, Scottsdale Fashion Mall, Kierland Commons Mall in Scottsdale, Metro Center in Peoria, Arrowhead Center in Glendale, WigWam Outlet Malls in Goodyear.
Where do you recommend I do my home shopping? Safeway, Basha’s, Fry’s Marketplace, AJ’s, Albertson’s, Costco, Sam’s Club.
Are there any unique villages or strip malls for me to spend my Sunday? Farm House in Gilbert, Antique District in Glendale, Mill AvenueMerchants in Tempe, Fifth AvenueShops in Scottsdale.
Where would you buy a new pair of shoes? Nordstrums ! Foot Solutions.

1) Availability: Are there times and/or days you find yourself unavailable? No, If you need me I’m available 24/7.
Is there a certain type of client you're looking for? I’m looking to help any one who is determined to reach there goal of being a home owner. It doesn’t matter whether this is their first home, and investor or if you’re selling to move up. I enjoy all of the challenges and pride myself in the service I can offer.
Excellent negotiating skills and a good reputation.
2) Community Involvement: Are you a member of any local clubs/boards? South East Board of Realtors, Corpus Christi Catholic Church. (Chamber, Rotary, Women's Council of Realtors, etc.) I participate in several philanthropic fund raisers throughout the year raising money for various charities.
Have you ever done anything that's made a big impact on the community?
3) Experience: When did you first get into real estate? Four years ago. I’m proud to say that I sold more houses in my first year than most people sell in a decade.

Are you married? Yes, I’ve been married to my wife Jacquelin for 34 years.
Do you have any children? Yes, We have three children. John is 41lives in Chowchilla, California. Our daughter Stormi is married to son in law Jeff and lives in Maricopa, Arizona with their two children. Our son Beau and his son also live in Maricopa, Arizona.
5) Hobbies: Other than real estate, what else interest you? NASCAR, NHRA Drag Racing, Sprint Car Races, Football, Basketball and Baseball.
Where do you go to enjoy your personal activities? Phoenix International Raceway, Firebird Raceway, Manzanita Speedway, Bank One Ballpark, America West Arena.
What was something you are tremendously proud to have done? Helped many first time buyers reach their goal to become home owners.
6) Passion for RE: What do you specifically love about real estate? I love being told “You’re the first one I thought of – when I decided to buy or sell.”
Describe your best transaction and that customer? Listing a home for a client on Thursday, selling that home two hours after the open house started on Saturday. The buyer was actually a client who purchased the home over the telephone site unseen from her residence in Alabama. Found the seller a new home on the following Wednesday, and both transactions closed simultaneously in 21 days. Both clients are extremely happy with their purchases and have done extremely well in the appreciation of their property values.
What was the nicest thing a customer every said to you? You’re the first one I thought of – when I decided to buy or sell.

8) Travel: Where have you traveled in the past? I love going to Florida every winter, especially to Key West. We also enjoy driving down to Rocky Point, Mexico to soak up the sun and eat lots of shrimp! We also enjoy going to Northern California, especially San Francisco to enjoy the cuisine and the sights and smells of Fisherman’s Wharf.
If you had to move to another city anywhere in the nation, where would it be? Charlotte, NC
Why? My best friend just moved there and he just became a realtor and I think we could have a wonderful time doing business together. Besides, it’s really close to all of the NASCAR boys.
If you had to move to another city anywhere in the world, where would it be? Dubai
Why? It’s the prettiest place I’ve ever seen.
